From good shelter to good food and good clothing we never thought how life would be without them. But still there are few people who do not get basic necessitates and above all they are devoid of love , care and empathy.

Old age homes, orphanages, homeless kids are few places and people who are not getting these basic necessities. Neerja Modi School, Chittorgarh students are lucky enough to be born & brought up in good families covered with love, care and basic amenities.

To create a sense of empathy, gratitude and sympathy Neerja Modi School, Chittorgarh organizes few events through which our students visits these places and meet several people who are under privileged.

  1. On events like Christmas day, our primary students brought gifts & chocolates for orphanage kids and distributed it amongst them. They celebrated this day with students, danced, sang carols and enjoyed. The feeling of satisfaction, joy and happiness could be seen in both the sides in their eyes. Most of them had tears in their eyes which explained the joy of giving
  2. In Bake sell activity(An activity in which students put up several stalls of eatables & games and earn through it), our primary students donated the collected amount to purchase woolen clothes of another orphanage of city. We purchased jackets for approx 60 kids and distributed amongst those kids with refreshments. Happiness of making them wear those jackets could easily be seen amongst our kids.
  3. With the same amount Neerja Modi School invited all the students of orphanage in its Christmas Carnival where they enjoyed different delicacies, games, rides, etc. Smile on those little students were more than the satisfaction for Neerja Modi family.

Dignity of Labour & Empathy

The dignity of labour is the philosophy that all types of jobs are respected equally, and no occupation is considered superior and none of the jobs should be discriminated on any basis. Though one's occupation for his or her livelihood involves physical work or mental labour, it is held that the job carries dignity compared to the jobs that involve more intellect than body, Neerja Modi School, Chittorgarh, as an educational institute understands the responsibility of making our students understand the value of each profession.

We make them understand that Cultivation would not be possible without manual labor. A farmer does hard labor to produce food grains, vegetables and fruits for all of us. Houses cannot be built without manual labor. Under the show & tell activity our kids enact these professionals and understands their value and work.

We try to cultivate the emotion of empathy from a very tender age amongst our student so that they grow up with a feeling of respect & care for them. We arrange several field

trips to make our kids understand how hard these people work and how much benefit they give to society. From time to time during moral classes and general awareness our teachers teach our kids importance of each individual professional so that they understand the value of each human being.

A concept of community helpers is taught in all pre primary classes. Under this kids have the role play of several community helpers which makes them empathetic & respectful towards each profession. Our kids participate in the cleaning campaign to honour our workers and understand how hard they work. Imparting empathy do not only make our students learn to respect each professional but also make them grow as better human being. They understand the feelings of other and share it and can make this world a better place to live with their kindness and love.
